Toread Fun

I'm still not sure what kind of card this will turn out to be - but with the big blank space I have space for pretty much any sentiment or number I wish to add.

Stamp from the Crafter's Companion Toread collection, leaf silhouettes from a local recycling charity and other bits and bobs from my crafty stash. It's the first time I've ever included a pipecleaner in a card, but I like the effect so expect to see more in the future!

Get Well Soon Bears

I thought I'd really messed up when I printed my Meadow Cottage Bears in grayscale - but after some Spectrum Noir Inspiration (and my very first homemade bow!!) I came out with a card I'm rather pleased with it.

Top Tip: This fabulous ribbon was from a high street card shop and was a real bargain!

Kanban baby cards

One simple, one fiddly to create, but both just right for the occassion!

Beautiful Things

It's another Hunkydory inspired card - again 8x8. I'm really enjoying making bigger 'statement' cards, although storage can be a problem. If anyone knows of anywhere you can find good quality card bags in larger sizes at cheaper rates please comment below and let me know where to look!

This week's Top Tip is take a look in charity shops for odds and ends you might make use of - my local chairty shop regularly has 'stamp days' which is where I was able to find the feature pieces for this card.

Lighthouse Retirement Card

I try very hard to make KISS cards - Keep It Simple, Sunshine! This new card is an example where I think I got it right - topper and brown printed card from Hunkydory's Marvellous Men collection, some Core'dinations card gently roughed up and some ribbon and gems from my stash.

Dream, Imagine, Believe

I recently bought the Hunkydory Gorgeous Girls and Lovely Ladies collections. It was the first time I'd bought Hunkdory and Im glad to say I'm not dissapointed; the pictures are beautiful, there's a wide variety of themes and, of course, its all on the fabulous Adorable Scorable cardstock. It took me a couple of hours just to stop looking at it. Then I did what I often do with my best card making materials - I put it away!

It proved impossible to leave alone though and my mind kept wandering back to it. I decided that I had to step up my game and jump in feet first to make an 8 by 8 inch card - my first 'large' card ever. The pressure was on as I wanted to do it justice and wasnt sure I had it in me, but Im really proud of the final result. I've included two pictures because while one shows the glittered card off really well, the other shows the colours in more natural light.

The background card stock is from the Hunkydory collection, everything else, including the sentiment is from my stash. The green wire is my tip of the day - I got a pack of 5 spools of plastic coated from my local pound shop in their gardening section. It twists easily and I created the curls by running it between my thumb and a large paint brush before tightening it with my fingers - very easy, very quick and best of all very cheap!
